School Council
Our council is composed of a democratically elected member from each class, ranging from Year 1 to Year 5, alongside two representatives from Year 6.
Our meetings, held at least once every half term with Mr Hallas and Mrs Haigh, provide a wonderful opportunity for students to discuss agenda items raised by their classes. It is also a platform for planning and implementing whole school initiatives – such as the recent Red Nose Day events, which were a fantastic success thanks to everyone’s contribution!
During our meetings, the topics of discussion often include a wide variety of ideas, such as environmental concerns, wellbeing initiatives, and community involvement. Our diligent representatives take notes during these gatherings, ensuring that we record our discussions and the actions we agree upon. Following the meetings, the Year 5 and Year 6 representatives formalise these notes and distribute them to each class, allowing every child to stay informed. Class representatives then share these discussions with their classmates, ensuring that everyone has a voice in the matter.
We encourage you as parents and guardians to discuss these topics with your children. It is important for them to feel involved and empowered, knowing that their thoughts and opinions are valued. If your child has an idea or concern they would like their class representative to bring to the council, please do not hesitate to encourage them to share it.
Thank you to all the staff, pupils and parents for your ongoing support in fostering a collaborative and engaging environment for our students. Together, we can continue to make our school a better place for all.
