Covid Catch-up Premium: 2022/23 (Financial Year)

What is the Catch-up Premium?

In 2020 the government announced additional funding to support children and young people to catch up lost time after school closure. This is especially important for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds.

School's allocations will be calculated on a per pupil basis, for this financial year, school has received £2,393 to support Covid catch-up.

How can it be used?

Schools should use this funding for specific activities to support their pupils to catch up for lost teaching over the previous months, in line with the guidance on curriculum expectations for the next academic year.  Schools have the flexibility to spend their funding in the best way for their cohort and circumstances.

School-led Tutoring

In addition to the Covid Catch-up premium, school also receives a tutoring grant.  This financial year, school has received £2,998 for tutoring.

How will we use this additional funding in 2022/23 financial year?

School will use the grants (£5,391 combined total) to pay for 2 hours per week individual and small group tutoring led by an experienced teacher, Mrs Myers.

We will decide which children will receive this intervention based on a number of factors: impact of school closure, academic attainment, disadvantage, any other pertinent identified need.
