This year we have begun to work with the Woodland Trust. We have held and have future plans a range of activities to earn points for the Woodland Trust School Award. It is part on our ongoing Green Team work to raise the profile of the work happening in school and to inspire pupils to become active participants in caring for our local and global environment.
So far we have planted 23 trees and have more saplings coming, We have held a whole school tree dressing day and we have participated in assemblies with resources from the Woodland Trust.
We have currently earned enough points to qualify for the silver award. We have been participating in Earth Day and raising aware of our electricity usage by switching off our lights. Each week the Eco Team present the trophy to the class who have been the most conscientious is saving electricity. We are now working with our local councillor to look at ways we can recycle in school.
Well done everyone who has been involved. Next stop....Gold!
