REVISION GUIDE - Please encourage your child to use their CGP Revision Guide to support their grammar homework throughout the year. These guides have a label on the inside cover with more details. Can we please ask that these guides are not written in and returned to us at the end of the year - thank you!

Reading - please continue to read your Accelerated Reader book little and often so that you can complete your comprehension quizzes in school. Don't forget you can also access TT Rockstars to practise your times tables - this will really help your fluency with arithmetic questions

Spellings - a set of spellings are set each Monday and the children are tested on Fridays. Please encourage your child to learn the specific spelling patterns each week as these form part of the SPAG paper they will sit in May. You could also download a free app called 'DoodleSpell' which encourages a range of spelling skills through fun activities and games

Year 6 Information Letter

We hope you all had a restful half term break! We have lots of lovely things to look forward to in the run up to Christmas including our visit from Tom Palmer on 11^th December! We will also be continuing to sing our hearts out each week in preparation for our Young Voices concert in the new year. In the classroom, we have already got off to a busy start with a new reading and writing focus. We will be exploring politics and poetry in our guided reading sessions and creating explanation reports and short narratives in writing. In science we will be investigating ‘light’ and in DT we will be planning and making our very own 3 course meal! In Maths we will be continuing our work on fractions; exploring the different rules for each operation and will also review decimals, percentages, ratio and proportion. In RE we will be exploring God’s plan for Christians and how these messages were given to us through Jesus’ teachings as part of our unit ‘What kind of king is Jesus?’
