This half term we will be going on a trip to Nell Bank where will spend the whole day engaged in outdoor learning linked to the book 'Tidy' by Emily Gravett. In the build up to this we are going to be learning about how we care for our local environments such as the woodland. We celebrated Earth Day and read Somebody Swallowed Stanley and learnt all about plastic pollution and how we can recycle. We have also got some tadpoles which we are caring for until they are fully grown frogs and have been learning about their life cycle. We have also learnt about Eid-al Fitr and heard from our friends in class who celebrated with their families and we had an Eid party in class. Finally we had a visit from LUFC who came to do some training with our children who are obsessed with football and we had a great practising our football skills! The children have also displayed an interest in surveys and we have been conducting a range of tally surveys which has lead to thinking about how we travel to school and making maps of our journeys. All this and we are only a few weeks in... we can't wait to see what else this half term has in store!
