This half term has been particularly full of celebrations. We learnt about St Valentines and read Love Makes a Family. This lead onto thinking and learning about each of our family and how much we love them. We made cards and portraits for our loved ones and learnt about why Christians celebrate Mothering Sunday. We put on a special Family class assembly and had delicious treats at the end of it with our family. We also learnt about why Christians celebrate Lent and Easter and did a lot of learning about the Easter story and this then lead onto looking at signs of spring. We took part in our own Holi celebrations when learnign about how and why Hindus celebrate Holi. We were covered in lots of colour powder and had lots of fun! We went on a nature walk looking at buds, flowers, listening to the birds signing and seeing our saplings growing. We have had a new frog pond put in our garden and just before the holidays a parent brought in some frogspawn for us to have. We are really excited to watch them grown when we come back from our Easter holidays.
