It has been an immensely busy half term in Reception. We began by celebrating Pancake Day, Shrove Tuesday and  Ash Wednesday ready for Lent. We read Mama Panya's Pancake's and compared it to our Pancake Day here in the UK. We made our own delicious pancakes too. That was not our only religious celebration, we also celebrated Holi with a colour party where we threw colour powder paints at each other. We have been to visit our local church too and Reverend Rob taught us all about the things inside a church, including the Easter candle. We have been getting ready for Easter by learning about the Easter story from the bible.

As well as this we have been show our love for our families by performing a special family class assembly. We read the books 'I Love you to the Moon and Back' as well as 'Love Makes a Family'. Then we created cards and portraits of our special family members which we gave them during the assembly. We sang them songs and shared cakes and treats altogether too. It was a great success and we are busy planning our next family event for the summer term.

We have been lucky enough to have  couple of visits from Fudge the school therapy dog who came and listened to some readers as well as giving hugs and cuddles to the Boogie Bugs.

Finally we have had lots of goodbyes this half term to staff whom we have written special cards and prepared gifts for to say thank you and show them how much we will miss them.

A fantastic and fun half term! Now we are looking forward to our next half term and upcoming trip to Nell Bank. Watch this space to see what else we learn in Reception!
