On Friday 20th May the Children took part in a ‘Royal Race’ fun run.
We are asked all children to come dressed in Red, white and blue to mark the occasion (something suitable for running in). Key stage 1 ran laps of the school field. 1 lap for each year of the youngest child in their class. E.g Reception will do 4 laps, Year 2 will 6 laps etc. Key stage 2 completed their run through the woods. The race commenced with a ticker tape explosion! Running from the gate at the top of the lane to the lodge. (3 trips is 1 Km if anyone ever wondered) They aimed for a minimum of 1 length for each year group, year 4 will do 4. The children were encouraged to do as many lengths as possible and there were some additional prizes as determined by the teachers for those that run the furthest or give the most effort, encourage their team mates etc.
Every child received Special edition Queens Jubilee Commemorative Medal for taking part to remember the event. 100 of these medals have been kindly purchased by Manning Stainton Estate agents so we thank them very much for their generosity.
