The child:
- demonstrates a disinterest in school life and work;
- finds it difficult to put in more effort than the minimum;
- is disengaged with tasks and appears to see no purpose to their work;
- feels reluctant to seek advice and help (possibly due to embarrassment…) or has no desire to seek
advice and help;
- does not understand their work so becomes disheartened easily;
- has kept trying with their work in the past but has experienced failure so has learned to give up;
- Uses procrastination in order to avoid independent classroom activities i.e. asking to go to the toilet,
sharpening their pencil for a long time, etc.
